It came from a classical guitar and nothing else. From that, he recorded humorous songs, songs that represent us in the world, dramatic stories of life and love, lively music that already looked toward what would become the pop of the following years. His "Nel blu dipinto di blu" represents an Italy where values, unfortunately no longer at the foundation of it all, made everyone's life a little simpler. And even today, it remains, probably, our second anthem. Artists like McCartney, Metallica, Chet Atkins, or Frank Sinatra have paid tribute to him in their concerts. And if it's unfair to link him solely to that, I must say that songs like "La donna riccia," "Vecchio frac," and "Tu sì' n'a cosa grande" have always put me in a good mood.
