Innovative, brilliant, experimental and popular at the same time. Poetry and infinite class, the only flaw: a cold and ascetic style that made her a musician for the few. In her recent albums, she seems to have lost the taste for cultured experimentation and is less grumpy with the audience, and the result is still an elegant and refined pop light years ahead of the Italian average. I simply adore her, even now that, inevitably with the years, her voice has lost some of its youthful grit (though replaced by immense skill and an elegance that no one in Italy possesses).
