One of the directors who is currently doing good for cinema. Sometimes a bit too cloying ("The Master," "Inherent Vice"), other times he delves deep into the human soul, and masterpieces like "Magnolia" and especially "There Will Be Blood" are a clear example of this, beyond the exercise of style.
