J.R.R. Tolkien

Excuse me, first of all, I want to say that I’m not a scholar and I haven’t read many books in my life (modesty can be a virtue in some cases). But I still want to share my thoughts and ask you a question: do you think Tolkien is a great writer???? I’m almost finished reading The Lord of the Rings with great effort; in my opinion, being extremely descriptive and having invented a literary genre doesn’t necessarily mean being a talented writer. I don’t want to stir up a hornet’s nest, but honestly, I’ve read much more interesting books.
