Fugazi

The middle finger in the ass of post-modernity, moralism, and hypocrisy. In a drifting society, parched by empty idols, shitty music, free markets, and precarious relationships, the absence of an institution like "MacKaye/Picciotto" is felt. When I think of a FUNDAMENTAL band in the strictest sense of the term, they are the first that comes to mind. In On The Kill Taker, End Hits, and Red Medicine, my top 3 in this order.

Fugazi are an American band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1987, widely regarded as a landmark post-hardcore group noted for DIY principles and independence from major labels. The core lineup is Ian MacKaye, Guy Picciotto, Joe Lally, and Brendan Canty.
