Inspiral Carpets

Among various changes in frontmen, the most remembered phase, sometimes celebrated (by the old fans of the so-called Madchester phenomenon), is that of "Life," a truly excellent album that is a mix of the sounds brought back to prominence by Stone Roses & company, very 60's. It’s a shame it was a very short-lived experience, and like many other bands from that era, they got lost along the way. The live "21790" is also fantastic (if you can manage to find it).
