Bill Hicks would tear it down in his shows, and I laughed a lot because he was brilliant when he labeled you as "a big lady" and made all sorts of allusions. I've never really appreciated the Wham! era and that exhausting attitude; it was probably in his character. As he admitted himself, he wanted to boost his ego and be idolized (his own words). For better or for worse, he leaves us with the number 1 icon of the entire '80s, a devastating year for many artists known to the so-called "general public." As for songs, I remember "I Want Your Sex," "Freedom," and "Faith," which were still danceable.
