William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare (1564–1616) was an English playwright and poet from Stratford-upon-Avon. He authored tragedies, comedies, and histories that shaped English literature and theatre. His plays were performed by the Lord Chamberlain’s Men (later the King’s Men), and many were preserved in the 1623 First Folio.
