Someone on a website called him "a superior being," Rivoli referred to him as "the Arab queer," and he has been addressed in various ways... the big-nosed man who produces extraordinary works, the man who, while sitting and striking sometimes ridiculous and genuinely curious poses, manages to hypnotize audiences, the man who, from the almost kitschy progressive beginnings with a bush of dung on his head, intellectual glasses, and homosexual poses, had that something extra which he later revealed after years of research, crisis, and criticism. I hated him with all my heart, then I changed my mind and found myself enchanted as well.
