Starting from pop with shoegaze and psychedelic undertones in Leisure, they moved through the irreverent singles of the '90s, designed to be ironically and intelligently mainstream, only to arrive, with the stunning self-titled album, at a mature, ethereal, lo-fi sound... up to the Middle Eastern influences of Think Tank. Beyond britpop... there's been (was?) much more.
