In Flames

"The Jester Race" is an undisputed masterpiece. Great albums up until "Reroute To Remain", then they shifted towards a much less complex and more easy listening alternative metal. The only thing to criticize them for, aside from the stylistic change—which is their choice—are the patterns that have been practically the same for 20 years, with the two guitars repeating at intervals of thirds. But they remain great for what they did in the '90s.

In Flames are a Swedish metal band from Gothenburg, widely associated with (and often credited as pioneers of) melodic death metal. Reviews on DeBaser focus on their influential 1990s/early-2000s run and the later stylistic shift toward more mainstream, electronic, alternative/metalcore-leaning elements that divided listeners.
