I listen almost every day, compulsively, one or more times, to the album "Unknown Pleasures." Ian's voice has captured my soul, the music simultaneously destroys and enchants me. Pure, minimal suffering, no need for grandiloquent words. I can no longer live without Joy Division; they have become a part of my life. I wish I could relive the first listen of "Unknown Pleasures" ten thousand times.

Joy Division

Joy Division were an English post-punk band formed in the late 1970s (Ian Curtis, Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris). They released two studio albums, Unknown Pleasures (1979) and Closer (1980). After the suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis in May 1980 the remaining members later formed New Order.
