Anthony Phillips is remembered by many as the first guitarist of Genesis from their beginnings until the second album "Trespass," where his guitar style, closely tied to the use of the 12-string guitar (in tandem with Mike Rutherford), paved the way for Nursery Cryme with a demo of The Musical Box. He decided to leave Genesis to seriously dedicate himself to studying classical guitar. In '77, he released "The Geese & the Ghost," a delicate and fairy-tale-like album. He has recorded many instrumental albums in a similar new age style.
