Pushkin staged a drama that highlighted his supposed rivalry with Mozart. All fiction, indeed, but from that farce was born the famous Amadeus by Milos Forman. Variations on the theme of Spain (included in the collection of Ouvertures) display an absurd brilliance. This was the true Salieri!
