Musically, I like them; it’s not that they’ve innovated anything, but still, Enrico and Daniele are good musicians, and Max writes beautiful lyrics. I couldn't care less if they're left-wing. I’m not radical chic with an eskimo and a pipe, and I've never shouted "things were better with Berlinguer." You haven’t really understood what the lyrics of Offlaga are about. They talk about youth, playing on nostalgia. And here in Emilia, especially in the 70s, the words "youth" and "communism" are impossible to separate.

Offlaga Disco Pax

Offlaga Disco Pax are an Italian trio associated with the Reggio Emilia area (Cavriago is repeatedly cited in reviews). Their signature blends synth/drum-machine driven indie/new-wave textures with Max Collini’s recited, ironic storytelling, often centered on memory, everyday details, and socialist/post–Cold War cultural references.
