I adore them; I find that in their career they’ve had some truly brilliant ideas. I prefer the second phase to the first, which I don’t disapprove of at all (after all, Parklife is a great album and the others aren’t to be dismissed either). The self-titled album from 1997 is their masterpiece, very lo-fi but at the same time exquisitely and genuinely pop. In short, they’ve had many ideas that are well thought out, in my opinion.
