Massive Attack

Celebrated and exquisite authors of a subdued nocturnal trip-hop. Alongside their peers Portishead and Tricky, they share introspective and slightly alienated atmospheres, but Massive Attack shifts everything towards an "urban" dimension, perhaps demonstrating even more color and oblique influences, as well as more pronounced hip-hop roots. "Blue Lines" and "Mezzanine" are pure masterpieces.

Bristol-based music group formed in 1988, widely credited as pioneers of trip-hop; original core members include Robert '3D' Del Naja, Grant 'Daddy G' Marshall and Andrew 'Mushroom' Vowles.
