William S. Burroughs

American author (1914–1997), central to the Beat Generation and a pioneer of experimental fiction. Co-developed the cut-up technique with Brion Gysin and extended his work into spoken-word recordings like Dead City Radio and Spare Ass Annie and Other Tales. Harvard-educated and influential across literature, music, and film.
