David Knopfler

British singer‑songwriter and guitarist, David Knopfler co‑founded Dire Straits in 1977 and played on their first two albums before leaving during the Making Movies sessions in 1980. He launched a solo career with Release (1983) and continued with albums including Wishbones, blending pop‑rock with folk and blues influences.
