Sentenced

An impressive debut with "Shadows of the Past," one of the best albums from the dark Finnish death metal scene, even better is the follow-up "North from Here," a spectacular example of evolved death with superb atmospheres. "Amok" is also good, leaning much more towards classic heavy metal, and then there’s the turning point with the change of vocalist, which honestly doesn’t sit well with me at all. It’s worth noting that the evolutionary path is parallel to that of their compatriots Amorphis.

Sentenced

Sentenced were a Finnish metal band known for a pronounced evolution in sound: early releases rooted in death metal, later moving toward a more melodic, gothic-leaning style. The band ended their career in 2005, releasing "The Funeral Album" that same year.
