Garbage

I feel the need to defend them. I liked their first two albums back then (to be honest, I didn't have high expectations). Fun pop. I haven't followed them since 2001.

Garbage are an American alternative rock band formed in 1994, known for blending rock guitars with electronic production and pop songwriting, fronted by Scottish singer Shirley Manson and co-founded by producer/drummer Butch Vig alongside Steve Marker and Duke Erikson.
