Lothar & The Hand People, also among the pioneers of the transformation of the classic rock song format with the help of early synths, theremins, and oscillators. Two works to their name, the one more rooted in American tradition being "Presenting" from '68 and "Space Hymn" from '69. I have a vague recollection of their "Machines," from the first album, which was later covered by Plan 9; correct me if I'm wrong.........

Lothar & The Hand People

American psychedelic group formed in Denver, Colorado, later active in New York. Pioneers of early Moog synthesizer and theremin use (the theremin dubbed “Lothar”). Signed to Capitol Records and released two albums: Presenting… (1968) and Space Hymn (1969). Members included Paul Conly, John Emelin, Kim King, Rusty Ford, and Tom Flye.
