Eddie Van Halen

A very personal opinion, fans, please don’t take offense. He embodies everything I dislike in a guitarist: mind-numbing tapping solos, a barrage of notes without any sense, technique for technique's sake, loud rock, and nothing more. He has sparked a generation of guitarists who, in my view, should be listed among magicians rather than musicians.
