the godfather of Hong Kong cinema, after a lukewarm start, manages to give his best in action films often centered on gangster stories, kickstarting the Heroic Bloodshed genre and producing several gems such as: "A Better Tomorrow (1 and 2)", "Bullet In The Head", "Once a Thief", "Hard Boiled", and "The Killer". After achieving success in China, he moves to Hollywood and aside from the commendable Face/Off, the rest is all forgettable...once the money came in, he lost his touch.
