The Birthday Party

The Birthday Party were an Australian post‑punk band formed in Melbourne, active from 1978 to 1983. Featuring Nick Cave, Mick Harvey, Rowland S. Howard, Tracy Pew, and Phill Calvert, they became known for an abrasive, gothic‑tinged sound and incendiary performances.
