Venetians. Racists with one of the smallest wage gaps between immigrants and Italians. Selfish with countless volunteer associations. Indifferent to others with 50-55 blood donors per thousand inhabitants compared to 25 in Calabria and Campania. I am Venetian, neither proud nor ashamed to be so. Opposed to the crude Lega supporters just as much as to the southern rhetoric of an open and hospitable South contrasted with a narrow-minded and miserly North.
