Of course, the vote only refers to the period with Ruggiero. They produced some of the best albums within the Italian music scene. Highly skilled musicians, minds that loved to experiment, an INFINITE singer—Matia Bazar have never lacked anything. Matia Bazar, Tounée, Il tempo del sole, and Tango remain examples of pure Italian class, deserving of success even abroad. I won't even comment on the rest; as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't exist.

Matia Bazar

Matia Bazar are an Italian pop/synth-pop group formed in Genoa in 1975. Fronted in their classic era by Antonella Ruggiero, they moved from 1970s Italian pop to an electronic and new-wave sound in the early 1980s. They won the Sanremo Music Festival in 1978 and the Critics’ Award in 1983 with Vacanze romane; Ti sento (1985) became a major European hit.
