It's incredible that, after 40 years of career (of which a good 15 have been spent in the shadow of the whole world), he has managed to produce genuine gems of music, the astounding sextet of the American Recordings. In those six masterpieces, it seems that old Johnny really gave everything he had, even more than in his earlier works. Beautiful. Captivating. Epic. HE'S JOHNNY CASH!!

Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash (1932–2003) was an American singer-songwriter known as the “Man in Black,” celebrated for a deep baritone voice, stark storytelling, and songs about prisoners, outsiders, faith, and redemption. His late-career American Recordings with producer Rick Rubin sparked a major resurgence and introduced him to new audiences through sparse arrangements and transformative covers.
