Florence Foster Jenkins

American socialite and amateur soprano famed for off-key opera performances. Active in New York’s musical circles, she gave a sold-out Carnegie Hall recital in 1944 and recorded 78s later compiled as “The Glory (????) of the Human Voice.” Often accompanied by pianist Cosme McMoon, she became a cult figure of outsider music.
