William Friedkin

I admit I don't know it well; I judge it based on what I've seen. Excellent in noir, whereas "The Exorcist" is one of the most overrated and hyped films of all time, shocking only to a certain hypocritical-puritanical culture of the USA. But what struck me was "Sorcerer," a true gem of tension and atmosphere, one of the most intense films I've ever seen.

William Friedkin (1935–2023) was an American film director associated with the New Hollywood era, widely known for directing The French Connection (1971) and The Exorcist (1973).
