Friedrich Nietzsche

The greatest (and, in some ways, overrated) philosopher of the nineteenth century. As Professor Maurizio Ferraris put it, "The first great pop star in Western history." I have always quite liked him, nonetheless.

Friedrich Nietzsche

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900) was a German philosopher and classical philologist known for aphoristic prose and radical critiques of morality and religion. His ideas, including the Übermensch, eternal recurrence, and the declaration that “God is dead,” shaped modern thought. He experienced a mental collapse in 1889 and died in 1900.
