If we exclude a few funny scenes, American Life is disgusting. Conceived from a petty-bourgeois perspective: The underlying ideas conveyed about the world are embarrassingly superficial. I give it two stars only because he slept with a lot of beautiful women (and don’t come to me saying I’m sexist).
