César Franck

César Franck (1822–1890) was a Belgian-born French composer, organist, and influential teacher at the Paris Conservatoire. A leading late-Romantic figure, he served as organist at Sainte-Clotilde in Paris and wrote enduring works including the Symphony in D minor, the Violin Sonata in A major, Symphonic Variations, and major organ pieces.
