catalyzing FEELINGS with just the voice, transmission of discomfort, self-destruction in music, this was grunge, these were Nirvana (you can replace this name in this fucking definition ONLY with Soundgarden and Alice In Chains (who were not just 3 drug addicts from Seattle but 4)) and it’s not some fucking technical-compositional property that has nothing to do with grunge.

American rock band formed in the late 1980s, fronted by Kurt Cobain with Krist Novoselic and later Dave Grohl. Broke into the mainstream with Nevermind (1991) and released In Utero (1993); Cobain died in 1994.
