Grachan Moncur III

American jazz trombonist and composer (1937–2022). A pivotal voice in 1960s Blue Note avant‑garde/post‑bop, he led landmark sessions like Evolution and Some Other Stuff and later recorded influential BYG/Actuel works including New Africa and Aco Dei De Madrugada. He was the son of bassist Grachan Moncur II.
