Bonnie Tyler (born Gaynor Hopkins) is a Welsh singer known for her raspy, powerful voice after vocal cord surgery. She achieved international success in the late 1970s and 1980s with hits such as "It's a Heartache" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart", and collaborated with producer/songwriter Jim Steinman.
