Given that I don't care about religion, I judge him as a political man. Pinochet, myriad African dictators, Fidel Castro, Tereq Aziz, South American generals from military regimes... he has shaken hands with bloodied hands, but that is part of the role of any political leader. If anything, his greatest fault was the excessive silence on the episodes of pedophilia among the clergy, while his greatest merit was initiating, together with his friend Walesa, the collapse of communist regimes.
