Eva Cassidy (1963–1996) was an American singer from the Washington, D.C. area whose interpretations spanned jazz, folk, blues, soul, pop and gospel. She died of melanoma at 33 and gained wide posthumous recognition in the early 2000s, particularly in the UK.
