Bertrand Russell

Education should aim for the freedom of young minds, not their imprisonment in a rigid armor of dogmas intended to protect it, in life, against the dangers of impartial evidence. The world needs open minds and hearts, not rigid systems, old or new.

British philosopher, logician, mathematician and author noted for work in analytic philosophy, the foundations of mathematics, and for popular science writing. Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1950.
