Compared to Ratzinger, John Paul traveled much more frequently! Jokes aside, he was far too archaic and conservative: his mental rigidity further lowered the moral and intellectual level of the episcopate. For his public image, he poorly imitated John XXIII, but at the same time, his internal policies were regressive and inquisitorial, and in this, his right-hand man was none other than Joseph Alois Ratzinger.
