An excellent lyricist, with lyrics handled with intelligence and subtlety. A good composer, melodies arranged with experience and professionalism. A humble character, consciously distant from glitz and gossip. A bit faded in the 2000s. Many steps above some of his peers. Those who don't know him well speak only out of stupidity.
