The connection between Dream Theater and SSTM can't be read, presumptively, as a clever move. But it's not cool. I’d say they’ve geared it toward the big audiences by simply hardening their gritty side and flattening a psychoprogressive attitude that was also quite clever. In short, they pulled it off brilliantly. Live, they are seriously impressive.
