Generally, those who want to make everyone believe they are true connoisseurs, that they understand more than others, that they have tastes superior to those of the masses of ignorants, love to say things like the Beatles are banal. If that same person is fixated on minimalist avant-gardes filtered through a cosmic nihilism full of cacophonic feedback expressed through electric ruminations, then they are a darkie. On the other hand, if they grind your gears day in and day out with Beethoven, then they are J&R.
