I rewrite the comment, which has evidently been misunderstood: being a great guitarist necessarily implies a certain type of technique, which does not come down only to speed and precision; there are a lot of factors to take into account. To say "he is a great guitarist but not technical" is a contradiction, and that's what I wanted someone to explain to me.
