Pietro Mascagni

Pietro Mascagni (1863–1945) was an Italian composer from Livorno and a leading figure of the verismo movement. He achieved international fame with Cavalleria rusticana and went on to write operas including L'amico Fritz, Isabeau, Guglielmo Ratcliff, and Nerone.
