Hermann Hesse

Hermann Hesse (1877–1962) was a German-Swiss novelist, poet, and essayist whose works explore self-discovery, spirituality, and the tensions of modernity. He received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1946. Major works include Demian, Siddhartha, Steppenwolf, and Das Glasperlenspiel (The Glass Bead Game).
