Saxon

Well, yes, they’re great, but saying they’re the best Heavy Metal band is a bit of an exaggeration. In any case, they are one of the most credible bands in terms of attitude outside of their records, the purest embodiment of the very first English metal. And albums like Wheels of Steel and Denim and Leather are proof of that.

Saxon

Saxon are an English heavy metal band associated with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM). They formed in the mid-1970s (originally as Son of a Bitch) and rose to prominence around 1979–1981, with vocalist Peter “Biff” Byford as their defining frontman.
