In which other Pop album had you ever heard English and French horns, ukuleles, baritone guitars, harpsichords, clarinets, theremins, bells, harps, string sections, the sound of a train, a dog's barking before Pet Sounds? Those impeccable vocal harmonies? Unfortunately, when I mention the Beach Boys, people just laugh in my face, oh well.

Brian Wilson

American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer; co-founder and chief architect of the Beach Boys’ sound. A studio innovator behind Pet Sounds and “Good Vibrations,” he later pursued a solo career including SMiLE (2004) and That Lucky Old Sun (2008).
