The Beach Boys

Underrated? Beyond personal tastes, the Beach Boys are essentially that great record that is "Pet Sounds": indeed, the album is rightly included among the greatest works of all time (see the Rolling Stone rankings, for example): at this point, someone should explain to me why the Beach Boys are underrated. Perhaps it is said to attribute merits to them that they do not possess.
