Stephen King

In my opinion, the greatest commercial writer of all time has several excellent books to his name (Salem's Lot, Carrie, Sometimes They Come Back), at least two absolute masterpieces (The Stand, It), but too many missteps in recent years (Cell above all). Anyway, a great.

Stephen King is an American author best known for horror and supernatural fiction, also spanning fantasy, crime, and thriller. He has frequently set stories in Maine and is widely regarded as one of the most popular and influential contemporary writers in his genres.
